The Village of Bensenville is kicking off the giving season with its 2026 Holiday Toy Drive, inviting residents, businesses and organizations to help bring joy, generosity and holiday magic to local families in need.
In partnership with Bensenville School District 2 (BSD2), the village is continuing a cherished long-standing tradition which provided more than 2,500 toys last year to over 400 Bensenville-area children. This year, the village is calling on Bensenville to make the 2026 holiday season even brighter.
Donation boxes will be placed throughout the village, including at Village Hall, the library and BSD2 schools, making it easy to donate new, unwrapped toys. Musical instruments, sports equipment, building and crafting toys are among the most requested gifts.
Monetary donations are welcome online, via the Bensenville Community Foundation website, helping ensure more children experience the excitement of the season.
“Every gift has the power to make a child’s holiday brighter,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “When we come together with generosity and compassion, we create joyful memories and remind local families that they are surrounded by people who care. Together, we can make this season truly special for Bensenville children and families.”
Donations will be accepted through Thanksgiving. The generosity of donors comes full circle during Toy Distribution Day, a special private event for participating families. Families are qualified to benefit from the Toy Drive by the school district, ensuring those in need are invited to participate.
Volunteers help parents select age-appropriate toys and books, then wrap those gifts for their children, creating a warm, festive experience and ensuring presents are ready for Christmas morning.
Give a toy. Give a gift. Give a little holiday magic. Let’s make this holiday season one to remember. For more information about the Toy Drive, visit: www.bensenville.gov
