Throughout July, celebrate America’s 250th birthday by helping to feed a neighbor in need
Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry, serving nine communities in northeast DuPage, announced the launch of the month-long fundraising initiative, “Freedom from Hunger.”
In honor of America’s 250th birthday, EYFP is encouraging donations to support residents facing food insecurity.
For every $25 donation, donors can sponsor the grocery and personal care products for a family of four for their monthly visit to EYFP. This Fourth of July, EYFP hopes that people can unite for one common goal: fighting against hunger in our local community. The organization will be raising awareness all July long.
Donations can be made through the organization’s website, PayPal, Venmo or by cash or check. More information can be found at: EYFP.org/ways-to-give.
About EYFP
For 42 years, Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry has provided Food, Compassion, and Hope to neighbors in northeast DuPage struggling to make ends meet. The summer months are some of the hardest for families with children.
EYFP relies on donations to fulfill its mission. With community support, it has increased both the quantity and the quality of food offered.
Through May, EYFP has filled over 4,450 grocery carts. It offers more fresh fruits and vegetables than ever – over 200,000 pounds through the end of May. To meet all of its clients where they are, EYFP has added two more evening distribution opportunities to better accommodate working families.
