To commemorate the occasion, York Township Supervisor Timothy Murray presented Rose with an official proclamation recognizing her century of life and declaring Aug. 18, 2026, as “Rose Tuffanelli Day” at York Township. Throughout her 100 years, Rose has built a life centered around faith, family and community. She shared 69 years of marriage with her beloved husband and has created a cherished family legacy that includes one child, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
During her working years, Rose contributed her talents to Nabisco and Marshall Field’s and has remained actively involved with her local Catholic church. She continues to enjoy gardening, playing BINGO and spending time with her family—and credits plenty of cookies, candy and ice cream as part of the secret to a long and happy life.
“Celebrating 100 years of life is an extraordinary milestone, and it was our privilege to recognize Rose and the wonderful legacy she has created,” said Murray. “These are the moments that make our Senior Center community so special.”
York Township was honored to celebrate alongside Rose and wishes her continued happiness as she begins her 101st year.
