Costume contest to highlight Monster Mash on Saturday

Posted

Calling all ghosts, goblins, superheroes and little monsters!

The Bensenville Park District invites Halloween enthusiasts of all ages to show off their spookiest, silliest and most creative looks during the Monster Mash costume contest at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Varble Park and the Deer Grove Leisure Center parking lot, 1000 W. Wood St. in Bensenville.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each of four age divisions: ages 0-5, 6-10, 11-17 and 18 and older.

The costume contest is part of Monster Mash, one of the district’s largest events of the year. The free, family-friendly celebration runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and features a trunk-or-treat, bounce house, climbing wall, pony rides, carnival games, a pumpkin patch, food and drinks, and plenty of Halloween fun.

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and in costume to join the festivities, whether sporting a classic Halloween outfit, a creative character or a frightfully original design. With prizes on the line, it’s the perfect opportunity to let imaginations run wild and bring some Halloween magic to the celebration.

Monster Mash is made possible with support from major sponsor Grand Subaru and participating sponsors ARC Family McDonald’s Restaurants and Texas Roadhouse of Mount Prospect.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. For more information, visit BvilleParks.org or call 630-766-7015.
