Samantha Szejner, a senior at York High School, was recognized during the Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 Board of Education’s April 21 meeting. Szejner was honored for being named to the Illinois Athletic Directors Association (IADA) All-State Recognition Team. Szejner, who will attend the University of Michigan, was a member of York’s girls swimming and girls water polo teams. She is pictured (right) with District 205 Superintendent Keisha Campbell (left). York’s male nominee—Hunter Stepanich—was also named to the team. York is one of two schools in the state to have its male and female nominees earn IADA All-State honors this year. (Submitted photo)
