The Village of Villa Park issued an update on Friday, Aug. 7, regarding its cleanup efforts related to the storms of July 27.
The village’s update stated that crews from the Villa Park Public Works Department have been working “throughout the community and continue to clear storm debris from parkway trees and other public areas.” According to the village, those crews will collect storm-damaged trees from parkway trees only.
“Residents with smaller branches and sticks [less than 4 feet in length] should bundle them and place them out for their regularly scheduled weekly yard waste collection,” added the village’s announcement.
“If crews have not yet reached your street, please know they are continuing to work throughout the village and, due to the significant amount of debris left behind and the number of storms occurring, will get to your area as soon as possible. Thank you to our crews for the many hours they have dedicated throughout the week and continue to do so.”
The village advised residents who see a tree limb hanging dangerously over a roadway or sidewalk, or encounter any other immediate safety issue with a parkway tree, to call the Villa Park Public Works Department at 630-834-8505.
“Thank you for your patience as crews continue these cleanup efforts,” stated the village at the end of its announcement.
