Villa Park resident releases book on practical guide to recognizing scams

New book teaches readers to identify the Hook, Story, Urgency and Action behind fraud attempts before money or personal information is lost

Villa Park resident Christopher Biggar, a fraud specialist and founder of Fraud Aspect LLC, has released Fraud Aspect: Recognizing the Fraud Pattern: Hook. Story. Urgency. Action., a practical guide designed to help consumers recognize the structure behind scams before responding.

The book breaks fraud attempts into four recurring elements: the Hook that captures attention, the Story used to make the situation believable, the Urgency that pressures the target to act quickly and the Action the scammer ultimately wants the target to take.

“Scams change, but the pattern behind them is remarkably consistent,” Biggar said. “My goal is to help people slow the moment down, recognize what is happening and verify the situation before taking action.”

Written in straightforward language, the book helps readers apply the framework to common fraud scenarios, including impersonation, payment and relationship-based scams. It also supports Fraud Aspect's broader mission of making fraud education understandable and useful for individuals, families and community organizations.

Biggar is available for interviews, fraud-awareness workshops, webinars and speaking engagements. He can discuss common scam tactics, the behavioral pressure used by fraudsters and practical steps consumers can take to pause, verify and protect themselves.

The book is available through Amazon, with expanded availability through additional booksellers as national distribution listings become active. Additional information is available at www.fraudaspect.com.
