Susan Marie Thurnall passed away on Sept. 10, 2026, age 70 years. Susie worked 47 years with the Social Security Administration.
Susie was the heart and home of our family–compassionate, funny, and endlessly creative. She loved holidays, canning, traveling, camping, swimming, ziplining, parasailing, ice skating, dancing, cooking and feeding everyone. Susie brought people together with her extraordinary warmth. Her laughter and kindness made every day better, and she will always be with us in our hearts and the stories we tell.
She is preceded in death by her father, Tytus Glowacki; mother, Maria Glowacki; and sister, Anna Marie Kretchmer.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, David Thurnall Sr.; children, Hillary Thurnall Bukowski (Jeff), Heather Thurnall Hernandez (Steven), David Thurnall Jr., and Katelyn Thurnall; future daughter-in-law, Lexi Colwell; sister, Barbara Glowacki; and niece and nephews, along with her beloved Siamese cats, Bella and Beau.
A visitation will be held at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S. York Road., Bensenville, Illinois 60106 on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026 from 2-6 p.m.. Final viewing the following day from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home, Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Church of the Holy Ghost, 254 N. Wood Dale Road., Wood Dale, IL 60191.
