Serenity House, Poised for Success and The Kids Equipment Network were each recently presented with $2,500 checks from Rose Coyle (philanthropy chair) from the fundraising efforts of The Women’s Club of Addison. Serenity House was founded in 1985 and is located in Addison. It has grown from a four-bed cottage to a state-of-the-art addiction treatment facility that provides a holistic approach focusing on integrating men and women back into their surroundings as self-sufficient, productive members of their communities while improving the quality of life for their families. Poised For Success, located in Lombard, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping women gain financial independence through (re)entry into the workplace. In addition to providing business appropriate clothing, volunteers help clients build self-esteem and develop interview skills. They also provide job training and placement. Kids Equipment Network is a 501[c][3] organization that refurbishes and secures medical and adaptive equipment for children with special needs at no cost to the recipient.  The co-founder and current president lives in Addison.
