RONALD RENCH, 92

Ronald J. Rench, 92, of Oak Brook, formerly Lombard, passed away April 26th surrounded by his family.

Ronald was the dear husband of the late Marlene Vee, nee Lindsay. Loving Dad of Laura Birnbaum of Villa Park, Scott (Terri) Rench of Lombard, Kevin (Jennifer) Rench of Wheaton, and David (Joe) Rench of Chicago. Dear Grandpa to Megan Napoli, the late Samantha Birnbaum, Riley Rench, Jake Rench, Anna Rench, Elizabeth Rench, and Nora Rench. Great Grandpa to Michael and Mason. Brother to the late Fred (Gina) Rench. Predeceased by his parents John and Ann Murin Rench.

Throughout his life, Ron loved baseball. He played in high school and college and was eventually drafted in 1952 by the St Louis Browns. Instead of pursuing his baseball career, Ron enlisted in the Army and was later deployed to Korea. He served in the Army from 1953-1955. During his time stationed stateside he married Marlene at Fort Lee on March 27th 1954. After his military service, Ron worked in insurance for multiple companies, going on to become a partner at Schulz-Brundage in Downers Grove.

Ron was an active member of the American Legion Post 391 here in Lombard. He was a member for 51 years. Continuing his love of baseball, he coached the American Legion baseball team for 18 years.

Ron was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later Christ the King Catholic Church.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on April 30th at Brust Funeral Home. Interment at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery will follow.
