Ready to downward dog with actual dogs? Wood Street Fitness invites the community to roll out their yoga mats and enjoy Puppy Yoga, a fun and relaxing fitness experience featuring adorable puppies at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood St., Bensenville.
The special session takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, in the Exercise Room. Participants will enjoy a 45-minute, all-levels yoga flow followed by 15 minutes of puppy cuddle time as playful pups roam freely among yoga mats.
“Puppy Yoga combines the benefits of movement and mindfulness with the joy of interacting with lovable puppies,” said Recreation Supervisor Ty Beshiri, who oversees Wood Street Fitness. “It’s a unique experience that helps people relax, laugh and connect while getting in a great workout. Whether participants come for the yoga, the puppies or both, they are sure to leave with a smile.”
Open to participants ages 14 and older—those ages 10-13 may attend with a paid adult guardian—the class is limited to 15-30 participants for an intimate and enjoyable experience. Advance registration is required, and spots are expected to fill quickly.
In addition to providing a memorable fitness experience, Puppy Yoga supports a worthy cause. A portion of the class fees benefits Chicago Canine Rescue, helping the organization continue its mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need.
Fees are $12, with a discounted rate of $10 for in-district patrons. To register, visit the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood St., Bensenville.
