Pavement markings related to city’s bike network being installed

Posted

The City of Elmhurst has been working with a contractor to install pavement markings related to the city’s bike network on Third Street and Addison Avenue. Along Third Street, a sharrow symbol has been installed on the pavement. The sharrow is a pavement marking that lets the vehicle's driver know this section of road is part of the city’s bike network; as part of that, they should be aware of bicyclists and share the road. On Addison Avenue, the existing bike lane south of Second Street has been extended north to Third Street. These improvements are part of the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.
