Park district offers three new, free summer special dance events

Posted

Adults looking to unwind, socialize and soak up summer evenings have three brand-new reasons to get outside as the Bensenville Park District debuts its Cultural and Fine Arts outdoor special event series designed exclusively for ages 21 and older.

From laid-back sunsets to throwback beats and rustic charm, the new lineup invites guests to experience local parks in a fresh and festive way—at no cost, with advance registration required.

The series kicks off with Sunset at Sunset at Sunset Park, where participants can relax and recharge as the day winds down with dancing from 7-9 p.m. June 20. The event offers a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy scenic views, good company and a peaceful close to the evening, making it an ideal midweek escape or weekend wind-down. Sign up by June 13.

At Sunrise Park, Kicking It Old School brings the energy with a nostalgic twist. Guests are invited to step back in time with music, dancing and memories inspired by decades past. With old-school hip-hop jams, participants can break it down with follow-along routines from 6-8 p.m. July 18. Sign up by July 11.

Rounding out the trio is the Barn Dance, 7-9 p.m. Aug. 22 at Fischer Farm, where rustic surroundings set the stage for a spirited night under the stars. With music, dancing and a touch of country flair, the event blends old-fashioned charm with a modern social vibe, creating a unique night out in one of Bensenville’s most picturesque settings.

“These events are all about giving adults a chance to connect, unwind and experience our parks and dance instruction in a new and exciting way,” said Cultural and Fine Arts Supervisor Nicole Thomasy. “Each one offers a different atmosphere, but they all share the same goal—bringing people together for making memorable summer nights through dance.”

All three events are free, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot. Beverages are available for purchase.
