The Village of Lombard has announced that the America 250 Fireworks Display, originally scheduled for July 4, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6 at Madison Meadow Park, located at 500 E. Wilson Ave.
The display was postponed after heavy rainfall left park grounds too saturated to safely accommodate a large public gathering and the equipment required to set up the fireworks display. The village worked closely with the Lombard Park District and the fireworks contractor to identify an alternate date.
"We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding," said Village President Anthony Puccio. "We're looking forward to continuing our celebration of America's 250th anniversary and bringing the community together for a great evening over Labor Day weekend."
Additional event details, including parking restrictions and viewing areas, will be shared as the event approaches.
The village thanks the Lombard Park District and the village's fireworks contractor, Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions, for their partnership in rescheduling this community celebration.
