Lombard police report

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Battery

May 17

A complainant in the 300 block of W. Windsor advised of being battered by his daughter’s father in-law last Thanksgiving.

A complainant at Schafer Elementary School reported at 8:38 p.m. that a juvenile fought her daughter at school, and that her daughter sustained head injuries.

May 14

A complainant near Central and Main reported an unknown man threw a Pringles can at him. The can struck him in the head. The complainant did not want to press charges.

May 13

A juvenile was issued a citation for battery at Glenbard East High School and released at the scene.

Criminal damage, criminal trespassing

May 16

A complainant at the Westin, 70 Yorktown, reported a male and female were trespassing on the patio, and she wanted them trespassed if they had not been already. Police made contact with the two subjects, who were trespassed from the hotel and left without further incident.

A juvenile was issued citations for trespassing and damaging property in the Yorktown Mall, while two other juveniles were charged with trespassing.

A complainant at Extended Stay America, 2701 E. Technology, reported someone damaged the steering wheel column on his vehicle in a possible attempt to steal it.

May 15

Miguel Mosquera, 43, of Lombard, was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of another’s credit card in the 100 block of N. Charlotte at 3:38 p.m. Mosquera was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a warrant that was out of the Lombard Police Department’s jurisdiction.

A juvenile was issued a trespass notice by police from the Yorktown Mall at 8:30 p.m.

May 14

Wortel Ortega, 46, of Villa Park, was issued citations for damage to village property, no valid driver’s license and failure to reduce speed near Madison and Elizabeth at 9:51 a.m.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

May 17

Connor Soto, 21 of Villa Park, was charged with reckless conduct and disobeying a traffic signal near Westmore and St. Charles at 8:19 p.m.

A 22-year-old Lombard man and a 22-year-old Hodgkins woman were charged with domestic battery in the 100 block of W. Ann at 3:25 a.m.

May 16

A 52-year-old Lombard woman was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 200 block of Westmore-Meyers at 10:40 p.m.

Three complainants at Comfort Suites, 530 W. North, reported at 11:47 p.m. that a subject was walking around and had been belligerent to them and another tenant.

May 15

Two juveniles at Glenbard East High School were given school discipline after fighting in a bathroom.

May 14

Kevin Anderson, 48, of Lombard, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct in the 300 block of N. Elizabeth at 6:56 p.m.

A complainant in the 1000 block of S. Fairview advised that his neighbors threw bottles in his front yard. The neighbors denied the allegations.

May 13

An officer stood by as Yorktown Security requested a belligerent homeless man leave the property, and he complied.

An employee at Dollar Tree, 727 S. Main, advised that a subject threw merchandise around. The subject was trespassed from the business.

May 11

Complainants at Embassy Suites, 707 E. Butterfield, advised that a subject was intoxicated and began arguing. The argument then became physical. No injuries were observed.

DUI, DUI-drugs, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of alcohol

May 17

Luis Zaragoza Leon, 26, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, failure to yield and driving without a registration light near Morris and Main at 1:45 a.m.

May 16

Christopher L. Serrano, 35, of Lombard, was charged with aggravated DUI, DUI and improper lane usage near Roosevelt and Wisconsin in Villa Park at 3:20 a.m. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.

May 12

William Bauman, 54, of Lombard, was charged with DUI in the 300 block of W. St. Charles at 5:10 p.m.

Fleeing, eluding

May 20

An officer initiated a traffic stop of a driver of a motorbike near Main and Maple at 1:06 p.m., but the driver fled. Police were unable to identify the suspect.

Identity theft, fraud

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, five incidents of identity theft or fraud were reported in the village between May 11 and May 17.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incident of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between May 11 and May 17: ChiCity Soles, 203 Yorktown, at 3:08 p.m. May 14.

Suspicious incident

May 15

A caller in the 1100 block of S. Finley reported a vehicle with a bunch of cameras on it drove past the building at 11 a.m.

A complainant in the 400 block of E. Marcus advised at 9:19 p.m. of cars driving in and out of the lot and people arguing. An officer did not locate any suspects.

May 14

A complainant in the 1000 block of E. Wilson reported that a man attempted to open her back sliding door, and then tried to open her neighbor's door.

A complainant in the 500 block of S. Edgewood advised a male bought her junk car and agreed to hold an additional amount for when she decides to buy a car from him. She advised she has not been able to contact him due to his number being disconnected.

May 13

A caller reported a customer at McDonald’s, 1 Yorktown, was yelling in the parking lot at 5:57 a.m. The area was checked with no results.

A caller in the 100 block of S. Grace advised that an alarm had been going off since the previous day at a residence. An officer observed the house to be vacant and silenced the alarm. Police were unable to contact the owner of the house..

A complainant in the 1100 block of N. DuPage advised vehicles were racing and doing donuts in the parking lot.

A complainant in the 400 block of W. Crescent reported a subject took a picture of him and that he feels harassed by her. Both subjects advised that they did not want anything to do with one another.

May 12

A complainant in the 1300 block of S. Finley advised that a subject spit on his truck. The complainant wanted to document the incident.

There was a report in the 100 block of N. Charlotte at 7:18 a.m. that a subject was back on scene, throwing rocks at windows to get the attention of residents. He was told to leave and left the area.

May 11

A complainant near Roosevelt and Westmore-Meyers advised that two motorcycles cut her off and a truck honked at her.

Theft, burglary, deceptive practices

May 14

A complainant in the 1-100 block of E. North advised he sold an iPhone to a subject, and that the subject paid with counterfeit money. An officer was unable to contact the subject.

May 11

Theft of a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of W St. Charles at 2:20 a.m. A victim reported that he had parked his vehicle and left the key fob inside. He advised that the vehicle was no longer there and no one else was supposed to be in possession of it.

A complainant in the 800 block of W. Foxworth reported his package, which contained a mattress, had been stolen.

Unlawful possession of a firearm

May 16

Charles K. White, 41, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was charged with unlawful possession of firearms in the 500 block of W. North at 1:01 a.m.

Warrant arrest

May 17

Regina Gheldof (homeless) was arrested on an in-jurisdiction warrant near Butterfield and Fountain Square at 5:01 p.m.
