Lombard police report

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Criminal damage, criminal trespassing

May 10

Juan Guevara, 51, of Lombard, was issued citations for criminal trespassing and being an intoxicated pedestrian in the 200 block of S. Westmore-Meyers at 11:51 a.m.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

May 10

A 27-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery in the 2200 block of S. Highland at 2:14 a.m.

Complainants near Westmore-Meyers and North Broadway reported they observed a subject strike his child in the backseat of his car. The subject advised that the juvenile was misbehaving, so he spanked him. Police checked the juvenile for marks with no results.

May 9

A complainant in the 100 block of N. Park advised of being hit by her neighbor. But the neighbor advised that the complainant came at him aggressively, and that he had not hit her.

May 8

A caller in the 200 block of S. Westmore-Meyers reported that more than three families are living in a unit and constantly screaming and stomping. Police spoke with a subject, who advised his kids were awake and probably being too loud, and he would send them to bed.

An employee at Yard House, 2301 S. Fountain Square, advised a male suspect was being verbally aggressive toward other people and would not leave. The subject left the area willingly.

May 6

An employee at Dunkin’, 1160 S. Main, advised of four juveniles concealing liquor bottles in the bathroom. One of the juveniles was transported to a hospital due to her being highly intoxicated.

May 5

A complainant at Chicity Soles, 203 Yorktown, advised the store sold him counterfeit shoes. The owner advised he was willing to refund the complainant’s money if the merchandise was returned.

May 4

An employee at Huntington Bank, 555 E. Butterfield, advised that a female subject was being disruptive. The employee wanted the subject to leave. She left without incident.

A 38-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery and violation of an order of protection in the 2700 block of S. Highland at 8:05 p.m.

DUI, DUI-drugs, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of alcohol

May 10

Shawn Collins, 19, of Joliet, was issued a citation for illegal consumption of liquor by a person under 21 near 18th and Fairfield.

Dwayne Rushing, 48, of South Elgin, was charged with aggravated DUI and damage to village property in the 2700 block of S. Highland at 5:24 p.m.

May 8

Chemell Cardine, 39, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation/possession of alcohol, improper lighting and driving without insurance near Westmore and Jackson at 8:32 p.m.

Alexis Fernando Ceron, 24, of Addison, was charged with DUI near N. Grace and E. North at 1:30 a.m.

May 6

Gerardo Ezqueda, 43, of Bolingbrook, was charged with DUI in the 1000 block of S. Finley at 1:35 p.m.

May 4

Aurelio Jacobo Novas, 37, and Diana Martinez, 28, both of Chicago, were both charged with possession of open alcohol by a passenger in a vehicle near Butterfield and Highland at 12:05 a.m.

Harassment, threats

May 8

An employee in the 100 block of E. Maple advised that a subject applied to become a tenant and was denied. The subject then contacted the employee and began making threats.

May 6

A complainant in the 300 block of E. St. Charles reported that a subject has been harassing her via phone and came to her workplace.

Identity theft, fraud

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, three incidents of identity theft or fraud were reported in the village between May 4 and May 10.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between May 4 and May 10: Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 8:33 p.m. May 9 and at 11:44 a.m. May 10.

May 10

Kubra Baghirpur, 36, of Largo, Florida, was charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 5:34 p.m. and at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 5:59 p.m.

May 9

Serenity Clark, 21, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 3:31 p.m.

Jesus Ortiz Cedeno, 23, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft, burglary and resisting arrest at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 4:39 p.m.

May 6

Omar Abdelrahman, 29, of Oak Lawn and Haley Brzozowski, 24, of Plainfield, were charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 6 p.m.

Nahrin David, 51, and Marcel Elias, 38, both of Morton Grove, were charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 5:40 p.m.

Myra Khan, 20, of Glendale Heights, was issued a citation for retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 12:17 p.m.

Suspicious incident

May 9

A complainant in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt advised of two teens in a vehicle doing drugs. An officer made contact with one of the teens, who advised he is homeless and living in his car. He agreed to leave the area.

May 8

A juvenile in the 100 block of Lincoln Court was issued citations for attempting to flee a police officer, no valid driver’s license, disobeying a stop sign and driving without insurance. The juvenile was released to a parent.

May 6

An employee at Shell, 930 E. Roosevelt, advised that a vehicle passed by the business multiple times. The employee requested an officer stand by while the employee took out the trash.

A complainant in the 500 block of E. Washington advised she received a scam letter in the mail and wanted to document the incident.

May 5

A complainant in the 200 block of S. Stewart advised he was receiving phone calls regarding a home in Aurora that he does not own.

A caller in the 100 block of W. St. Charles advised five juveniles were sitting on a garage roof. Upon an officer’s arrival, the juveniles climbed down and ran away.

Theft, burglary, deceptive practices

May 10

A complainant in the 1300 block of S. Finley reported her Amazon package was stolen.

May 8

An employee at LA Tan, 837 S. Westmore-Meyers, reported another employee stole bank cards from her wallet and made fraudulent charges.

A juvenile in the 100 block of W. Maple reported a male possibly stole his e bike.

May 7

A complainant at a business in the 200 block of W. St. Charles reported her purse was stolen at the business.

May 6

A complainant in the 2700 block of S. Highland reported her package was stolen.

May 5

A complainant at City View Apartments in the 2700 block of S. Highland reported a subject stole money out of his wallet.

May 4

A complainant at a repair shop in the 200 block of W. Roosevelt reported she hired someone on Facebook to fix her vehicle. The subject claimed they worked at the business. She advised she sent the subject money prior to any work being done at the repair shop.

Warrant arrest

May 9

Brianna Mosley, 25, of Broadview, was processed on a valid failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County.

Vanessa Richardson, 68, of Naperville, was served a warrant out of DuPage County and released on pretrial recognizance.

May 4

Shawana Smith, 54, of Astoria, was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a failure to appear warrant after being taken into custody near Main and Morningside.
