Kick up those boots at Aug. 22 Barn Dance

Posted

Pull on a favorite pair of boots, grab a cowboy hat and get ready to dance the night away at the Bensenville Park District's Barn Dance from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at historic Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Ave. in Bensenville.

Designed for adults ages 21 and older, the new event is free and invites participants to celebrate the approaching fall season with an evening of music, dancing and western-inspired fun in one of the community's most picturesque settings. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme by wearing rustic favorites such as cowboy hats, fringe, flannel shirts and boots while enjoying a lively social atmosphere.

Bensenville Park District dance instructors will lead participants through an easy-to-follow line dance, making the event welcoming for beginners and experienced dancers alike. Soft drinks, water, beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

"This is a great opportunity for friends to gather, have fun and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Fischer Farm," said Cultural & Fine Arts Leader Nicole Thomasy. "Whether someone has been line dancing for years or is stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, everyone is invited to join the celebration and make lasting memories in a beautiful historic setting."

Fischer Farm offers a glimpse into Bensenville's agricultural heritage through its restored farm buildings, scenic grounds and educational programming. The historic farmstead serves as a year-round destination where visitors can experience local history while participating in family-friendly events, cultural programs and seasonal celebrations.

Advance registration is required by Aug. 15. Participants can register at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood St. in Bensenville, or by calling 630-766-7015.
