The 33rd annual Spring Road Pet Parade, sponsored by the Spring Road Business Association and the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst, will take place on Saturday, May 16.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at Spring Road and the Illinois Prairie Path. The parade will step off at 1 p.m.

Pets of all types and sizes are welcome, but they must be leashed.

Bring your furry friends and let them prance and strut their stuff in a costume, or just show off their natural charm! There’s fun for everyone!

The event will feature activities including face painting, and awards for Best Costume, Most Unique Pet, Best Pet Trick, along with other pet contests, including a peanut butter eating contest for dogs.

Pets must be registered to participate in contests and receive awards.

Several local pet organizations, including Fetching Tails Foundation, the Hinsdale Humane Society, New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois, and Underdog Railway Rescue will be present. Pets ready for adoption will be on-site.

Concessions will be available for purchase by cash or credit card. Items donated by local businesses will be raffled off.

Bring cash for raffle tickets. All of the raffle proceeds will be donated to the four local animal rescues and shelters present at the parade.

The parade is not only about celebrating our beloved pets, but also about coming together as a community and helping local animal shelters.

Donations will be accepted for area animal rescues and shelters.

Items in need include: non-retractable leashes, blankets, towels, dog treats, cat treats, dog beds, cat litter, collars, food and water bowls, paper towels, and cleaning supplies.

Goodie Bags are limited, so register today! To register, or for more information, visit SpringRoad.com/our-events.
