Grabowski retires; Johnson steps in as Acting City Manager

Jim Grabowski has retired as Elmhurst’s City Manager. Grabowski, who spent 15 years in the position, retired as of Sunday, Aug. 2. “Throughout his tenure, Jim helped guide Elmhurst through significant growth and lasting improvements that will benefit residents for years to come,” stated the City of Elmhurst. In late July, the Elmhurst City Council appointed Kent Johnson as Acting City Manager, effective Monday, Aug. 3. “A longtime City of Elmhurst employee, Johnson will provide continuity in City operations while the City Council conducts a nationwide search for Elmhurst's next City Manager,” noted the City of Elmhurst in announcing Johnson’s appointment.
