Ryan Alsobrook of Glenbard East High School’s Class of 2026 received the Evans Scholarship earlier this year. That scholarship provides a full housing and tuition college grant to golf caddies. Alsobrook, who is a Lombard resident, recently completed his fifth summer as a caddie at Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn. In mid-August, he headed to the University of Kansas to begin his freshman year as a Jayhawk. According to the Western Golf Association (WGA), which is located in Glenview and oversees the Evans Scholars Program, each Evans Scholarship is valued at more than $125,000 over four years.
