The Glenbard East football team opened its 2026 season with an Aug. 21 game against the Willowbrook Warriors in Villa Park. Enthusiastic students from both schools attended the contest, which began at 7:32 p.m. Glenbard East’s student section is pictured during the first half. The Rams trailed the Warriors 13-6 with about five minutes left in the fourth quarter when the game was delayed by lightning for 50 minutes. Glenbard East completed a touchdown drive after play resumed, and added the extra-point kick to even the score at 13-13. Willowbrook ultimately prevailed 20-13 in overtime in the exciting season opener, which ended at 11:16 p.m. The Rams will play their first home game of the season on Friday, Aug. 28, when they will face the Tigers of Plainfield North. The Tigers opened their season with a 22-15 win over Lake Park.
