Bridge reconstruction on the I-290 and I-294 bridge over Electric Avenue and Vallette Street is underway as part of the Illinois Tollway's I-290/I-88 at I-294 Interchange Project. Beginning on Monday, May 11, Electric Avenue and Vallette Street between Edgewood and Coolidge Avenue were closed, and scheduled to remain closed for 19 days, depending on weather conditions.
Flaggers will be present to assist Illinois Prairie Path users as needed while the work takes place. Roadway closures will continue to be scheduled as needed through the end of the year. According to the City of Elmhurst, residents can expect work to take place during daytime and evening hours, including weekends.
