Bensenville families and neighbors came together with the Bensenville Police on Tuesday, Aug. 4 to observe National Night Out—a block party style event that promotes neighborhood safety and camaraderie.
This year’s event featured a Wiffleball tournament, a bounce house, lawn games and free food, followed by a free outdoor Movie in the Park. This annual event offers a fantastic opportunity for residents to mingle with neighbors, connect with local emergency services and enjoy a vibrant summer evening together.
"Building real trust between our police force and the public is at the heart of National Night Out," noted Village President Frank DeSimone. "Gatherings like this allow us to engage with the community on a personal level, highlighting how vital local connection is to keep Bensenville safe."
This year’s event was made possible thanks to the Bensenville Police Department, Bensenville Emergency Management Agency, Bensenville Fire Protection District 2, Special Events and Communications Coordinator Victoria Myhre, along with sponsors Grand Subaru and Just In Time Staffing, and partners such as Hideaway Café and Be SMART for Kids.
Hosting events that bring our community and first responders together strengthens the trust and connections that make Bensenville thrive. These gatherings highlight the strong bond between residents and local law enforcement. For more information about Village of Bensenville events, visit: Bensenville.gov/events
