Addison second-graders visit Historical Museum, Village Hall

Posted

Over the past several weeks, the Village of Addison has hosted Addison’s second-graders, who visited from Fullerton, Army Trail, Lincoln, Wesley, Stone, Lake Park, and Ardmore elementary schools. They started with a tour of some of the buildings at the Addison Historical Museum, learning about the village’s history from the early settlers to post- World War II development. Then, after a morning of learning, students headed to the Village Hall. There, they ate lunch in the Village's Board Room where they also met Mayor Tom Hundley and asked him several questions. While some were curious about his favorite and least favorite parts of being the mayor, others were curious about his favorite artists or his favorite food. Much to Mayor Hundley’s enjoyment, there were also some jokes presented to him, and many autographs asked for. The second-graders loved their keepsake “I met the mayor!” stickers.
