Visitation School was filled with smiles, hugs and plenty of happy grandparents on Sept. 13 as families gathered to celebrate Grandparents Day.
The morning began with a special family Mass celebrated by Pastor Fr. John Lindsey, with the church filled to standing room only.
“It was a huge success,” said Principal Darlene Potenza.
After Mass, the celebration continued in the Parish Center with refreshments, fellowship and a photo booth. Families also enjoyed a Scholastic Book Fair in Podesta Hall and had the opportunity to tour the school, meet teachers and experience the community that has been growing at Visitation for 72 years.
More than a celebration, the morning was a beautiful reminder of the special role grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren—and in passing on the gift of faith.
“We are so thankful for the countless ways our grandparents support their grandchildren, and for the faith and traditions they pass from one generation to the next,” said Fr. Lindsey. “When grandparents pray with their grandchildren, attend Mass, serve others and lead by example, they show them that faith is not simply something learned—it is something lived.”
